The King of Oriental Buffet in Newcastle
For over 14 years Buffet King Chinese buffet style all-you-can-eat restaurant has been wowing customers with great selections and value for money.
The Buffet King will reopen on May 17th 2021 offering Bento style and A la carte table service due to government restrictions.
We will still have a full range of tasty dishes to choose from and normal buffet service resumes on July 19st, 2021.
Our Food
Located on the first level of the Gateshead Metrocentre the Buffet King offers about 50 different oriental and Chinese dishes as an all-you-can- eat buffet style service. ​

We take pride in the range and quality of our dishes and also offer delicious desserts and ice cream, coffee/tea and a fully stocked bar, all served by our friendly and dedicated staff.
Local Sources
All our ingredients are locally sourced for freshness and prepared at the restaurant by our Chinese chefs.
We do our best to ensure the freshness of our dishes and try to create portions carefully to minimise the time food spends on the buffet before being refreshed.
We aren't fans of food wastage.
Food Allergies
Wheat is mostly prevalent in noodle dishes in Eastern Asia, while many rice based oriental dishes are naturally gluten free and suitable for people who are sensitive to Gluten and FOMAPS.
Our menus are marked where likely allergens occur (eg: Eggs, peanuts, shellfish) but we can create or customise a dish depending on your requirements.
If you give us a heads up when ordering, or better still give us a call before hand we can ensure that we can prepare alternatives for stricter allergy sensitivities. *
Please note that we actively avoid or reduce the use of flavour enhancers in our cooking. The most well known of these is MSG (Mono Sodium Glutamate).
We hope you'll agree that our food is flavourful enough without it.

Buffet King already offers a range of dishes suitable for vegetarians which you can search straight off our buffet.
Also, if you give us a call before hand, we can easily customise most of our meat options for vegetarian alternatives (eg Tofu) so you can still enjoy a taste you love. *
